Home Staging

Staging a home for resale can be one of the most challenging projects in interior design. The homeowner is usually under a lot of stress while coping parting with years of memories. As part designer and part therapist, the interior designer must help the client to part with clutter and a sense of possession. Using “what you have” and “designing on a dime” to avoid renting staging furniture can dramatically lower costs while depersonalizing the space to make it more appealing for the potential buyer.

This home staging project was for a modest home in Marin County, California. The furnishings were kept minimal to increase the sense of size of this small home, and the books were kept in place to add a sense of coziness.
